The Reception Year

We are expanding the school with a class combination of Reception to Year 2 pupils starting from August 2016.

A combination of Reception to Year 2 students are in preprep class.

Reception, Year 0, Primary 1, or FS2 (foundation second year) is the first year of primary school in the United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland and Scotland). It comes after nursery and before Year One in England and Wales or Primary 2 in Northern Ireland. Pupils in Reception are usually aged between four and five.

Full time education begins from Reception Class, having a class teacher and three assistant teachers to ensure that the children in the class receive plenty of individual attention and help. The curriculum in Reception is designed to build on the knowledge and skills the children have learnt in Nursery. Their activities continue to be based on Montessori curriculum along with the seven areas of learning in the EYFS and the children are encouraged to participate in both adult led and child initiated activities. Creative art work plays an important part in the curriculum and the colourful displays in the classrooms and around the school help to make a bright and stimulating learning environment.
